PACK A LONG WEEKEND WITHOUT CARRYING SPARE BAGS
Most packing sets are sold by piece count and half of them travel empty. Three is what a long weekend actually needs: tops, bottoms, smalls. It nests into itself in a drawer, weighs less than a paperback, and every piece comes home with something in it.
-
Three pieces, all of them used — tops, bottoms and smalls, which is the whole of a long weekend
-
380 g for the set — the lightest complete set in the range, and it nests into itself
-
Mesh top on each cube — read the contents without pulling the cube out of the case
-
Fits a 20-inch cabin case — all three lie flat with room left for a wash bag beside them
-
Single-zip, no compression step — for three days there is nothing to compress, so nothing to fiddle with
Three cubes, which is the right number for a long weekend: one for tops, one for bottoms, one for everything small. Anything more and you are carrying empty bags.
Three cubes, three days, no spares
Big sets are sold on piece count, and then four of the pieces stay flat in the bottom of the case for the whole trip. Three is the honest number for two to four nights: a large cube takes four or five folded tops, the medium takes trousers and a layer, the small takes underwear, socks and a charger. All three are single-zip nylon with a mesh top panel and a webbing loop. The set weighs 380 grams, nests into itself, and fits a 20-inch cabin case with room left for a wash bag.

Questions about the cube set
Is three enough for a week?
Not comfortably. Three cubes is four or five tops, two bottoms and smalls — a long weekend. For a week, the five or six-piece sets add the volume without you repacking cubes twice a day.
Do they compress?
No. Over three days there is not enough packed volume for compression to give anything back, so these are single-zip: faster to close and 90 g lighter than the compression version.
Will they fit a backpack rather than a case?
A 35 L pack takes all three with the large one laid flat against the back panel. In a narrow 25 L daypack the large cube will fit but it will fill the main compartment on its own.
