The packable duffel is an insurance policy: it weighs 480 grams, takes no room, and it is the reason a full case is not a problem. This one is a high-tenacity ripstop with a silicone face that sheds rain, double-stitched at the handles and bar-tacked at the strap anchors, because the failure mode of cheap packable bags is a handle tearing out of a light shell. It folds into an integrated zip pocket on the end panel — the pocket is attached, so it cannot be the thing you lose.

Questions about the duffel

How much can a packable bag actually carry?
The shell is light but the load paths are not: the handles and strap anchors are bar-tacked into reinforced patches. A full 40 L of clothes, around 10 kg, is within it. It is not a bag for books or tinned goods.

Does it fold back into the pocket easily?
Fold it in thirds lengthways, roll from the closed end, and it goes in. Like every packable bag it is tighter than the first time out of the factory, which is a sign the pocket is cut close rather than loose.

Is it waterproof?
The face sheds rain and the ripstop does not wick. The zips are not sealed, so a downpour will eventually find the coil. It is a rain-shrugging bag, not a dry bag.
