SPOT YOUR BAG BEFORE ANYONE ELSE READS YOUR ADDRESS
Everything on the belt is a black rectangle, and the tag that came free with the suitcase cracked at the fold two trips ago. This one is a single piece of vegetable-tanned hide with your initials pressed into it, pale when it arrives and honey brown by the time you have used it enough to stop noticing it.
-
Vegetable-tanned cowhide — develops a patina instead of cracking at the fold
-
Privacy flap over the card — your address is not readable from across the carousel
-
Steel screw-post closure — no plastic buckle to shear off inside a baggage system
-
Free monogram, up to 3 letters — hot-foil pressed into the leather, not printed on top
-
Burnished, hand-stitched edges — waxed thread and slicked edges so it does not fray
A luggage tag you will actually keep, cut from vegetable-tanned cowhide that darkens the way a good wallet does. The address card sits behind a privacy flap, so your details are not readable from across the belt.
Vegetable-tanned, so it ages not peels
Most airline tags are printed PU that cracks at the fold within a season. This one is a single piece of vegetable-tanned cowhide, edge-burnished and hand-stitched with waxed thread, closed by a steel screw post rather than a plastic buckle that snaps in a baggage system. The card slot takes a standard business card, and the flap covers it until someone lifts it deliberately. Each hide takes the monogram press differently, so the initials sit slightly proud on some pieces and level on others. It arrives pale and goes honey brown.

Questions about the luggage tag
Will the monogram fade?
The foil is pressed into the grain rather than printed on the surface, so it stays legible as the leather darkens. Blind pressing shows less over time than gold, but neither lifts off.
Does the strap fit a spinner handle?
The 22 cm strap loops a standard telescopic handle or a side grab handle. On a thick duffel strap it will reach, but the screw post sits under tension, so the grab handle is the better anchor.
Is the leather stiff at first?
Yes, deliberately. Vegetable tanning leaves the hide firm so it keeps its shape on a belt. Two or three trips of handling softens the strap enough to loop easily without going floppy.
