THE CABLE KIT THAT DISAPPEARS INTO THE BAG YOU HAVE
A cable organiser you leave at home because it is a block is not organising anything. Five centimetres deep, one elastic plane, one zip: it goes down the side of the backpack you already packed, and it is still there on the day the charger matters.
-
5 cm deep, packed — slides down the side of a full backpack where a box will not go
-
Single elastic board — everything sits in one plane so nothing stacks and adds depth
-
Water-resistant shell — a coated face that beads rain on the walk from the station
-
One zip, one motion — open, take the cable, close — no flaps or layers to hold apart
-
280 g, commute weight — light enough that it lives in the bag rather than getting left out
The flat one. Two centimetres less depth than a clamshell case, so it slides down the side of a packed backpack or into the seat-back pocket instead of taking a block of space.
Flat enough for a seat-back pocket
Most cable organisers are boxes. This is a folder: a soft water-resistant shell with a single zip and a full-width elastic board inside holding cables, a charger and earbuds in one flat plane. Nothing stacks on anything, which is the whole reason it stays slim. It is not the pouch for a 100W brick and a mouse — that is the layered one. It is the pouch for the everyday commute kit, where the thing that matters is whether it disappears into a bag you are already carrying.

Questions about the cable pouch
Will a laptop charger fit?
A compact GaN charger, yes. A 65W folding brick fits but pushes the depth past 5 cm and the pouch stops being flat, which is the only reason to choose this one over the layered pouch.
Does it protect anything fragile?
It is soft — there is no shell. Cables, adapters and earbuds in their own case are fine. A bare hard drive or a camera lens cap belongs in the moulded clamshell instead.
Why only one elastic board?
A second board doubles the depth, which defeats the point. One plane keeps it at 5 cm, and 5 cm is what fits the seat-back pocket and the side channel of a loaded backpack.
